How was your Mother’s Day? This year, I did a little planning ahead of time and made my mom a lap quilt with cute fabrics. The fabric has horses, horseshoes, paisley, and western stars (my mom is a cowgirl). I quilted it using a zigzag stitch for a hint of embellishment. She loved it!
And here’s the finished quilt:
I spent the whole day with my husband and parents, just enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather. My parents live in a rural area on a horse ranch. Here is the view we enjoyed from their front yard:
We watched the deer sneaking sips of water from the bird bath.
We brushed and fed the horses.
And we let the dogs run and play.

This is my parents’ dog, Bear.
I hope you had a very happy Mother’s Day! How did you spend your day?

What a cute idea for a western quilt! I emailed it to my college daughter who is a “horsey” girl & majoring in pre-vet.
