Thanks to everyone for entering our Free Stuff Friday contest! We asked:
Do you upcycle or transform any thrift store finds into new clothing?
We randomly selected one winner from the comments. Congratulations to Lydia V.! Please email sewnews@sewnews.com with your mailing address.
Lydia V. won a copy of ReSew: Turn thrift-Store Finds into Fabulous Designs by Jenny Wilding Cardon from Martingale & Company for her answer:
I am plus size so I often find items I like and make the necessary adjustments. If I find a fabric print I like but the piece is not a size I can wear I will keep it for a quilt top, make a pillow out of it or use parts of it as an embellishment to another clothing item or craft object. I often have to do this with new retail items as well.
Be sure to check back to the blog this Friday for another chance to win a great sewing prize!

Oh wow, if I won this wonderful book I would use the designs to embellish and create items for my guide dog; I am a deaf/blind sewer. I would also make items to send to my great niece in Ontario.
