My favorite costume was a leopard costume I made for my daughter when she was a toddler. She enjoyed trying to look ferocious.
My favorite costumewas the pumpkin one I made for my grandson when he was 2.
It now has competition with the dragon costum I made for a friend’s daughtr this year!
I made a penguin costume for my daughter when she was 4. She wore it for 2 years and each of my granddaughters has worn it at least once. It’s still cute!
Hope it’s not too late to enter. I’m in my late 30′s, but I still remember the Strawberry Shortcake costume my mother made for me when I was in first grade. She used an old bedsheet to make a hat and apron, and felt strawberriesand sewed it all by hand, since she didn’t have a sewing machine. It went great with my red hair!
My favorite was being a three armed alien. My dad make me a third arm from a sweatshirt sleeve and a glove and I had to hold it in my armpit all night, lol. Not fun but a lasting memory for sure!
My mom made a Tinkerbell costume for me when I was 4 and my 5 yr old brother was Captin Hook . . . guess she could not convince him to wear green tights and be Peter Pan . . . . I had coat hangers bent into wings and he even had a plastic hook covered in duct tape. We were quite a pair that year!! And, my mom shared her love and talent for sewing with me so I am now making costumes, clothes and accessories for my 3 girls.
