Yes I have…simple ones…took a drapery class once but wasn’t overly impressed with the instructor so I did not finish…but I have sewn two lined prom dresses so I figure if I take my time and read the directions I can make draperies too.
Only once, years ago and desperately need to make new ones. This book would be a wonderful help!
Yes, quite a few times. I liked to change them often and it was cheaper to make them than buy them and you could add special touches that you could not get in a retail store.
I made my kitchen curtains out of inexpensive tablecloths from the Christmas Tree Shop! Inexpensive fabric, pre-hemmed, decorative border built-in! One of these days I’ll learn how to do it “right”…
I have made curtains several times. I need some more ideas!
No I’ve never made my own curtains, I have looked at patterns but a lot look to hard and I would love to learn how to make them for my new apartment
Nervously I am about to try making some curtains. Not just curtains, but roman shades and floor to ceiling panels. I’m not sure about the lining on either. This book sounds like it could come in handy.
Yes I have made my own curtains over the years. I also like to make shades that pull up with draw strings. I have made curtains and shades for kitchen, bathroom and bedroom windows. I like the fact that there is always new patterns and ideas coming out that give different ideas and new looks.
Yes! I made all the draperies in my new home. Still need to finish one set for my son’s room, though.
Come to think of it, I have not ever actually sewn
curtains. I have a pattern, but the fabric
that I purchased was too small for the window so
the whole project fell through!
I have never sewn curtains
Yes, a couple of times…nothing fancy
I watched my Mom make some for me once…does that count? Lol. I’ve been wanting to sew some. We just bought a house and I need a lot of curtains!
I’ve never made curtins, but have wanted to, just never had the nerve to try. I didn’t want to mess up that much material!
Yes – just beginning a curtain and shower curtain project for my bathroom. Would love some fresh ideas and instruction!
No I have never sewn curtains, I want to though!
I love to sew!!! Just got a new house and no kitchen curtains yet. Can’t find a pattern that pleases me. This book looks like it would provide me with tons of ideas. Hope I win. Thanks for the chance!
Yes, many over the years!
If you consider valances to be curtains, then yes!, I have sewn them several times. In fact, I just finished one set of basic gathered rod pocket valances for the family room/kitchen area.
I am in currently in the process of figuring out how to measure, shape, cut and sew a shaped rod pocket valance. Amazing what a difficult time am having finding specific instructions for something that should be easy to construct. I think I have it figured out and will make a smaller sample before making the 120″ wide (the window is 120″, not the finished valance) version, but it would be comforting to have actual instructions to follow.
Yes. My first real success was with the curtains for my son’s nursery. He is now 33 years old. I am thinking of making curtains for his neice now, the fourth grandchild.
No, they look to hard to do. I am only sewing for about a year. I have a Brother SE400 and I am afraid to do anything on it as I have not learned to much about sewing. I should like to make a setof curtains for my kitchen so that my window wouldnot be to bear but ????
You picture looks nice
Yes. Many times.
No, but every afternoon when I wash dishes with the sun in my eyes I wish I had!
Yes, and throw pillows to match. Love em.
Oooh, I really need to win this! I’ve been wanting to sew some valances for my spare bedroom/office, but haven’t gotten up the nerve to attempt them yet – this book would probably help!
Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom curtains and a valance. Currently have been spending far too much time trying to decide on the design for a garden door design.
I have made curtains several times for friends and family, oftentimes with other things to match, such as a sink skirt, shower valance, etc. I love to sew.
Have made all the curtains in my house…..LOVE TO SEW !!!!
no but i plan to make some for my new living room. i already bought the fabric i just need to figure out how to make them!
Not yet…but am about to attempt it! I have 2 new granddaughters to “create” for!
I was wondering which Mon. I always seem to miss this by just a little. I have sewn simple curtains and some roman shade curtains. The easiest were from bed skirts.

Yes, I have made simple lined draperies and valaces but always like to learn to sew new styles and get professional tips to enhance my sewing skills.
I have made curtains several times, and never had a pattern or directions,,,always designed them myself, which seems to take as long to do as the actual sewing part. Would love to have ideas, styles and patterns for some.
Yes, but not for quite a while. I’d like to make some for our kitchen/dining nook now but haven’t found the style yet I want.
Yes, I have made simple rod-pocket curtains for my sewing room, bedrooms, and am currently making some for the bathroom window in my new home. I would love to have this book to help me “think outside the box” a little.
I have sewed curtains and drapes .It is a lot of work but saves cost of buying ready made ,if you have longer then they sell , it has to be custom made. plus you can have just what you want.
I have been married 45 years and have made all the drape, curtains, sheers, and shades used in my house.
Love it.
Yes I have and I have had some cut out for 2 years and haven’t had time to finish them because I’ve been busy sewing for grand babies!!! Got two little girls on the way now.
