    Over the past 35 years I’ve made curtains for many of our homes as well as for others. While it is not particularly difficult, when dealing with floor to ceiling and wall to wall curtains, the amount of fabric makes it rather tedious (yet well worth it in the end).

    I’ve made several.. I made drapes for my dining room windows and for my master bedroom windows. I also make curtains for my kitchen and made matching quilted place mats for the breakfast table. So Cute.

    The very first house we owned I sewed yellow check kitchen curtains. Nobody told me that the checks were not on grain, or anywhere near straight. The lopsided curtains hung for a while. I have sewn many since and shower curtains too.
    Sewing is a lot of fun these days although after sewing a recent Halloween costume I can understand why fewer people sew these days. The directions were far from complete and even forgot to note a major piece of interfacing that needed to be cut! 30 years of sewing helped me catch the error but I still had to go back and cut it out.

    made a few, basic stuff. Even did the ballooning thing yrs ago when it was popular, using the plastic rings from a 6pk of soda cans. Remember those? lol

    I have tried to make curtains a couple of times with little success so that stops me from trying it again or in any room where they might be viewed by others. I am known for my sewing skills so to have curtains that don’t look great, it is an embarrassment. I book that can help me create curtains that will bring positive comments would be an asset to me. Thanks!

    I LOVE to make curtains. Every time we move (10 times in 40 years. In the early years it was every 3- 5 years). I’ve made curtains for friends and family. I’m always looking for new ideas.
