Most of the time it is something that someone else makes! I just have to have it :)

  2. The feeling of satisfaction I get when I complete a project and the look on the recipient’s face inspires me to keep sewing! I’m always looking for new projects. I admit I’m a fabricoholic and have a fabric stash that will keep me sewing long after I’m gone, LOL!

    My children.

  4. Penni says:

I am inspired by events. Being a senior citizen, I have lots of ideas in my head and in my sewing files. When someone’s birthday (or whatever) comes along I think to myself, “what would they like or what do they need that I can make”? AND I do have a sizeable stash that I have been “maturing” for years.

  5. Blossom says:

My family inspires me to sew! I love making things for my kids, and my sister, especially holiday themed projects.

  6. Andrea Allis says:

Many things inspire me to sew. Mostly my love for making my home a prettier place, or making heartfelt things for my friends and family. I love to sew!

  7. Joan says:

I love looking at blogs, they inspire me!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

I am inspired to sew when I see something that I know will be more pleasing with my own fabric choices, touches, embellishments. Or when I see a garment that doesn’t quite fit and I know I can make it mine with a few tucks and creative changes. I look at my beautiful machine, my comfie chair and sometimes just knowing how sewing will take me to a peaceful place–that is inspiration enough for me to glance at my patterns, go through a magazine, wander the fabric stores and resale shops–dreaming of a project that will give me time with my machine and my imagination. I think Sewing is absolutely the BEST way to maintain a sense of self and a feeling of accomplishment! My husband told me just last week “I like that you are always creating something.”

Simply the creative outlet I have when my wrists demand a break from knitting. It is also something my girl and I can do together, as she enjoys anime and cosplaying with her friends. She designs the costumes she needs based on pictures or drawings she has made, and then we stitch them together. It won’t be long before she’s off to college, so I’m cherishing the moments we have right now.

I think I’m inspired by everything! Watching my granddaughters playing, cooking, reading, listening to music, beautiful fabric, findings, odds and ends to be repurposed …

  12. Eileen says:

I get inspired by magazine articles or pictures or seeing something in a store.

  13. Kath says:

Something I see in the store or an article in Sew News.

  14. Darlene Young says:

I am still learning but so excited about the potential that lies in every piece of fabric. I just love to imagine what can be….

  15. Lydia V says:

    Creativity!!!!

  16. Cheryl says:

To continue the time-honored tradition of home sewing/crafting for the family and for home is my inspiration. To sew or craft in any medium and at any skill level is easily one of the most sustainable and satisfying ‘green’ activity anyone can accomplish.

  17. Mary says:

My granddaughter!! Seeing the delight in her eyes when she sees a new outfit and the comments she gets on her clothing.

  18. It used to be I could make something for a quarter or half the cost of retail, but now with the cost of fabric and supplies so espensive, I can no longer save money by making it myself. So now I sew to escape the daily troubles and worries in my life. Sewing takes up most of my concentration so I don’t think about other things that are bothering me.

  19. janet says:

I am inspired by my two grandchildren and what they like. I also get inspired when I go for a walk and see the plants, trees, flowers. I am also inspired when I look at my embroidery designs that I have.

  20. Diana says:

I started sewing when my children were young as we had very little monies, so I would take things apart and remake them. Then when my grand children were born, I sewed for them. Then as they grew, I was able to look at sewing through their eyes and wonderment and found new ideas from them. I took their drawings when they were old enough and turned them into dresses, quilts, art items. So my inspiration has always been how to look at things differently and then turn them into a skirt, a shirt or a quilt. Everyday there is new inspiration all around if one looks !
