The 12th Day of the Giveaway! Last Chance to Win!

Thanks for all the great comments from yesterday’s question: How many times have you wounded yourself with a pin?

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve jabbed myself. The worst was when I was taking in my bridesmaid’s dress for a friend’s wedding. I got myself a good one and smeared blood on my beautiful blue satin dress! I nearly had a heart attack and ran to the bathroom to wash it out. It came out alright, but I wear a thimble whenever I can now.

The winner of the poke-hazard free Getta Grip sewing clips is Darlene J., who said, “More times then I can remember. Seems like a part of every project.” Congratulations! Email with your mailing address to receive your prize!

  1. I have four, I want to make new ones. to match my curtins.

  2. Cindy McCarty says:

Oh, gosh, a number of times. How many times does a person need to get them in their feet to learn that you should NEVER go barefoot in the sewing room? My engineer husband thinks that I should never have pins on the floor, as if I place them there on purpose. I have said several times that I would like to stencil around the top of the room “Thou shalt not walk barefoot in the sewing room, for in that day that thou walk barefoot in the sewing, thou shalt surely step on a pin.”

  3. Jeanne says:

About a dozen and a half…most of which are out being used but a few in the closet needing recovering!

  4. Evelyn says:

There’s six in the family room and a few back-ups in the closet.

  5. Karen A says:

Two to three per couch(3) and several on our beds. I think the total is 15.

  6. MZW says:

Throw pillows are a part of most rooms in my house. 5 in the living room, 9 in the family room, 1 on the sun porch and 7 in the bedroom. Honestly, I didn’t think there were 22 in the entire house and that doesn’t include the ones in the closet in storage. Oops, add 3 more for a total of 25.

  7. Kayce Crews says:

    I have 6 pillows.

  8. Mama Lusco says:

About a dozen around in use!

  9. Careema Gourdine says:

    …at least a dozen.

  10. Allie says:

About 4 handmade throw pillows on the couch, and just 1 on the bed. I want to make more! :)

  11. Linda T says:

I don’t know how many I have. There are a couple of trashbags full of them plus what is out on the display.

  12. Heidi says:

I have several in every room, and the covers come off… always a good reason to make a new cover !! Some of them have been sewn by my mom, my kids, and myself as well. :)

  13. Suzanne says:

Several, but I’ve only made one basic throw pillow. I’d love to try some different styles.

  14. Rosemary says:

10 plus 1 more Christmas pillow

  15. Gillian Power says:

    Not enough!!

  16. trish beard says:

I have more throw pillows than i need but always want more.

I kike to try different patterns and designs

I have four and my first after Christmas project is recovering them. They are brown and dark and I do not like them…I am thinking white with color…

  18. charlene miller says:

    Not enough! Actually, I counted… 7

  19. Eileen says:

Right now I don’t have any. Have some fabric and pillow forms, so hopefully, I can make some pretty soon. This book would be much appreciated.

  20. Michelle Hall says:

none that I have made so this would be a great spur for me to make some and freshen up the look of my house.

  21. Jamie Fukofuka says:

I only have ONE throw pillow. My mom made it for me. I would love to win this book!! My friend wanted me to make her some throw pillows!

  23. Cynthia Hickerson says:

I have 7 throw pilows, I think. I have plans to make many more this year.

  24. Marianne H says:

I have no idea how many throw pillows I have. Recently I bought seven new ones for my living room. There are some in three of four bedrooms and maybe eight in the family room. So, the lowest possible count is 22. I could really use the give-away to cover the older pillows instead of purchasing new ones when I want to change up the color scheme in the rooms where I use pillows to decorate.

  25. Mary Bosker says:

I have 14 throughout the house, they are all used, sometimes abused but always loved.

  26. Carolyn H. says:

I usually have two on the sofa in the family. They are getting “tired”. Right now I have 2 Christmas ones instead. 6 on the bed. One in the living room. Sometimes I have a second one in the living room.

  27. Jan Sheets says:

I have too many! At this last count I have six in my living room, four in my master bedroom, two in the guest room and 4 in the den. My husband has four in his man-cave. That comes to twenty! Only because I love making them. I have given at least twice that many away! The truth is I love comfort and you can’t have too many throw pillows when it comes to being comfortable.

  28. nd mizzi says:

4 in living rm, 7 on my bed, plus 22 on grandchildren beds!

  29. to my husband’s dismay, three in every room!

  30. Kim says:

Only two on my couch. But I did make two envelope pillows for my girls as one of my 1st ever projects! They were fun because they were easy! Straight lines rule!

  31. Joan says:

    I have 4 throw pillows.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  32. Joyce Person says:

    20 plus

  33. Gloria Hemmen says:

I have 6 throw pillows out now. My favorite is an embroidered pillow I stitched for my mother in law 40 years ago. It came back to me when she passed away. Now it’s time to make some for my granddaughters. Always looking for new ideas!

  34. Sylvie Jobin says:

I only have two in the living room but would like to make some more, seems to be the perfect project ;)

  35. Linda Winson says:

I have a few on each sofa but I love to change them with the seasons, this book would give me more ideas to spruce the house up.

  36. Debbie C says:

Off the top of my head, I can think of six throw pillows I have made.

  37. Carla G says:

I have 4 on the couch and that is it. I need to make some, but haven’t had time…too many other projects. :)

  38. Towanda Foster says:

I have 4 throw pillows on the couch and 6 throw pillows on the two (2) bed.

  39. BJMarley says:

I have only 1 or 2 throw pillows. But I want to make more.

  40. Cynthia C says:

I only have the ones that came with the sofa (2).

  41. Marilyn Snow says:

Let’s see, there’s the four that came with my living room couch and loveseat, the four that came with the family room couch and chair, the couple that I have made and then about twelve that my daughter has slated for her room reading nest.

  42. Krystal Bennett says:

Only 2, and I didn’t make them so this book would be great for me!

  43. zapper45701 says:

Five on the couch, but that doesn’t include the five on the bed!

  44. Jean says:

I am wondering if I should include those 5 loose-back cushions on the sofa since my grandsons love to “throw” them. Otherwise, I have 6 in the living room and 5 in the bedrooms. And I also have two fancy throw pillows that are awaiting a new home – black with with dragonflies are not for everyone! I would love to learn more techniques and styles.

  45. Malia says:

    I have at least 8.

  46. sue says:

None! Guess I better win this book and make some!

  48. Victoria Butler says:

5 or 6 in living room, family room (need more) and 8 in bedroom. I want more in the living areas but need to learn how to put zippers in them. I’m also making throw pillows for my daughters.

I actually only have one throw pillow in my house, in my daughter’s bedroom. I plan on sewing some pillows though, so this book would be perfect!
