The 12th Day of the Giveaway! Last Chance to Win!

Thanks for all the great comments from yesterday’s question: How many times have you wounded yourself with a pin?

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve jabbed myself. The worst was when I was taking in my bridesmaid’s dress for a friend’s wedding. I got myself a good one and smeared blood on my beautiful blue satin dress! I nearly had a heart attack and ran to the bathroom to wash it out. It came out alright, but I wear a thimble whenever I can now.

The winner of the poke-hazard free Getta Grip sewing clips is Darlene J., who said, “More times then I can remember. Seems like a part of every project.” Congratulations! Email with your mailing address to receive your prize!

Not necessarily as there is much less adaptability. Most of these things may work, but not every one.

  2. Barbara Matthews says:

4 pillows in the living room, 16 in three bedrooms, and one in the dog kennel. What can I say, the dog is spoiled.

  3. Gwen Schryver says:

I have more throw pillows than the pillow wearhouse! I have many kinds: woven, smocked, felted, appliqued, made with heirloom fabrics from my great-grandmother,
crocheted, knitted, quilted, tied, and the list goes on. If I hear someone needs one I’ll make it.

    Great for accenting the room

  5. Denise McCue says:

When Chirstmas arrived I took out most but NOT all of my holiday pillows.
Angels, gnomes, more angels, snowpeople, elves, moose, and off course those with the colors of Christmas.

I like to make things reversable or you could say flipable so one side may be one thing and the other may by for New Years, Valentines, etc. Get it.
I hope I get to enjoy your book/magzine.

Throw pillows are a great way to try new techniques in a smaller scale to see if you want to put the time, effort and fabric into bigger progects. So throw pillow are on every bed in the house and on both couches and love seats….probably around 20!

Well I am kind of embarassed to answer this question but the honest answer would be four. We have two on the couch and two on my friends bed. I have been living with a friend now for over four years and it has been such a blessing! When I came to stay here, I went and got a job and I was going to save up some money, get on my feet and go and get my own place. Unfortunatly, things did not go as planned. I had worked for about two months and started having a lot of pain in my stomach. I ended up going to a doctor and found out that I had a hernia and that was what was causing so much pain. The doctor referred me to go and see a surgeon and at the time I had no insurance, so they required me to make a deposit before they could schedule the surgery. I took all the money I had saved up and used it for the deposit. After the surgery, I followed all of the doctors orders and two months later she released me from her care and told me I could go back to work without any limitations. Then four months later I was at work and all of a sudden I had so much pain I couldn’t walk. I went back to the hospital and found out that the hernia had came back but it was a dangerous situation, which meant that I needed emergency surgery. After all of that, I could not go back to work because no one wanted to hire me, knowing about my history. I ended up needing two more emergency surgeries after having those two. In May of 2009, the hernia came back again but they did not want to operate again because they said it probably would not work on me. I have had this hernia that I have now since May of 2009 and I am not a candidate for surgery at this time. I applied for SSI and it took me over three years for them to appove me as disabled. I also had no insurance for that whole three years and that was really hard on me, since I have to go to the doctor every 28 days. So as I was saying, I am extremely blessed to have such a good friend of mine who has opened his door for me. He is 82 years old and he has been taking care of me for the last four years. I am 32 years old and normally people would think that I would be helping him or I would be his care taker, but it is totally opposite. It would mean so much to me to be able to give back to him and this giveaway would be a really good way to do that. I appologize for leaving such a long comment or my life story, but it was in my heart to say all of this. I wish everyone the best of luck and thank you again for your giveaways!!!

  17. Gianna says:

  18. Chuck says:

I don’t know. I’m still finding more in the bags they were bought in.

  19. Nancy Eidsmoe says:

Wow. I have so many places, and pillows. No less than 8 in the motorhome, and probably 12 or so at the house, plus 6 or so in the car & truck plus a few in the camper. Yet, I plan to make more! I just love them, and I always have a gift handy. Plus, a weapon!!! hahaha And some just around here & there too.

  20. Robyn says:

4 on my couch. 2 my mother made and 2 my aunt made with her beautiful needlepoint, which I am recycling to preserve the wonderful work she had done many years ago…
