I usually rely on machine embroidery to decorate and upscale apparel that I make for my teenage granddaughters, my daughter, and new baby granddaughter. It would be great to learn new embellishing techniques beyond the programmed designs, even for myself!!!! Give most items away
I like to buy simple shirts and jerseys for my grandchildren and personalize them with various types of embellishments. They love that their apparel is uniquely theirs.

Fabric applique is my favorite type of embellishment. I take one fabric, cut out parts I like and applique it to an already made piece of clothing. I have something unique for little cost and effort. Yesterday, I did this applique process on a pair of training pants for my neice…she worked hard to become potty trained so she wouldn’t spoil (soil) the work of art I made for her.
I love to make my own appliqués. I call it appliqué art. And I use a variety of mediums to make them more fun.
