Here in Colorado, we’re thrilled that the Denver Art Museum will be the only US venue for the upcoming exhibit of Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective. In November, I had the wonderful opportunity to judge a YSL-inspired design challenge hosted by Project Runway’s Fallene Well’s, and last week the DAM celebrated the release of advance tickets for the exhibition, which opens March 25th. (Here I am, on the right, with my friend Katie at the lovely event. )
Yves Saint Laurent is one of the most innovative and influential fashion designers of our time, and the exhibition will showcase 200 of his haute couture garments, along with drawings, photographs and films to showcase his amazing vision. I can’t wait to be inspired by the couture techniques, gorgeous fabrics and iconic designs. If you’re not in the Colorado area, it will be worth the trip to Denver just to see it! (We’ve also got beautiful mountains and 300 days of sunshine every year!) In fact, many Denver hotels are offering special packages exclusively for the exhibition: http://www.denver.org/ysl.
