    My first sewing project was Betsy Wetsy doll clothes when I was about 7 or 8 in the late 1950′s. My love for sewing has continued and advanced since then and helped me through some trying times.

    my first sewing project was a apron in 6 th grade in home ect. class that started the sewing bug in me and hasn’t stopped since.

    When my grandmother taught me how to sew buttons, we stitched them on in the shape of a smiley face. I was in the second grade.

    My first project was a pair of pants in High School Home-Ec Class, which started my love for sewing. That year got my first machine, that was 36 yrs ago.

    When I was a freshmen in High School I sewed jackets for my friends. It was a70′s thing using old jeans…red,white. and blue. they were very popular with the “cool” crowd.

    I don’t remember what my first hand sewing project was but my first project on the machine was a simple dress.

    My first project was hand embroidered dishtowels—southern belles– age 14. Believe it or not I think I still have one left. I am in my 60′s now.LOL_LOL

    My first time I sewed was in high school and it was a shirt….Awful…
    I realized I did not like sewing so I never sewed again until just recently. I just got a new sewing machine for Valentine’s from the hubby and I’m taking a sewing class. I can’t wait to learn everything and start making some fun stuff. I’m so glad to have found your blog.

    My first sewing project was an apron. This was in home-ec class in the 7th grade!

  14. My first sewing project was a 10″ sailor stuffed doll cut from a pattern in the Commerical Appeal Paper from Memphis Tennessie in the early 1940(World war 2).It really was adorable and stayed with me through Nurses Training and about 10 years in my marriage.

    A stuffed teddy bear- my grandmother gave me a simple pattern and leftover fabric! he was small and lopsided, but cute til he fell apart!

    I know we made some items at the Boys/Girls Club, but I don’t remember what they were. I remember making lots of Barbie clothes at home. First clothing item was a skirt with a bib–lots of frog stitch on that one. It was a bright red print, and I don’t remember ever wearing it after I finished it.
