Sewing Tattoos

Hello Readers!

Remember back in January when Editor-in-Chief Ellen March asked about your sewing tattoos?

Yeah, we didn’t really either.

I nearly lost the ONE response in my inbox. But, her tats are really cool, so I’m glad I found them again!

Thanks Tamara for sharing your great sewing ink! It really is true love when you permanently etch an image on your body. I wish I was brave enough, but I just don’t have that kind of dedication. Check it out:

“I got my first antique Singer machine when I was 14. So fitting enough, my first sewing tattoo was of an old Singer similar to the one I first learned to sew on. I also have a vintage
styled dressform, embroidery scissors and a pincushion all covering my entire calf. My tattoo artist is Scott Lukacs. (” -Tamara B., St. Petersburg, FL

For sharing her tattoos and her story, Tamara won Quick and Easy Pillows & Cushions: 50 Step-by-Step Projects (Cico Books) and a roll of Peel n Stick removable ruler tape! Email with your mailing address to receive your prizes!

At the ripe old age of 60 I’m getting my 2nd tatoo — this one is going to be a threaded needle I saw on Pinterest — it’s very small and plain, but not quite nervy enough to go with these beautiful colorful ones!!

I can appreciate the artwork. It’s beautiful, but how would it look on me – at 72? Ouch.

    Beautiful tattoos!
I grew up watching my mom use a singer. That tattoo has an amazing resemblance.

Never thought about a “sewing” tatoo . I have a blue rose on my 56 y o breast. Really like the thought of a quilt square but where to put it????? and which square. I always wanted a target on my butt but not brave enough to get it.
