I seem to always need hand-sewing needles–where do mine all go? Do I lose them in the carpet when I hand-sew sitting on the floor? All I know is, I am constantly searching my sewing room for one when I need it!
To enter for a chance to win these sewing supplies, simply answer the following question in the comments section below:
What sewing supplies are you always in need of?
Good luck and Happy Easter! The winner will be announced on Monday!

I always need bobbins. I do a lot of free standing lace projects and need bobbins for all the different colors I use.
needles for sure! for some reason mine get bent and that’s impossible to work with!
I’m in need of everything moved in with my daughter and all my sewing supplies are still in Indiana and I’m now in PA. Plus I just got the new singer anniversary machine.
needles, sewing and machine. I never seem to be able to find the right hand sewing needle when I want it. I don’t unthread any that have left over thread in them they sit on my pin cushion ready to go. I just can’t seem to waste that bit of left over thread. Machine needles are always dulling or breaking right in the middle of a project.
Thread – no matter how many spools I have, the color I need seems not to be there.
Fusible stabilizer, Ribbon and Zippers
Thread and needles. I swear I buy thread and needles and then don’t have the right color or size when I need it. Then again, one can never have too much thread, needles and fabric.
Machine needles for all the different fabrics I see with.
Needles. I always need needles.
Wonder Tape!!! I love this stuff. I use it when I put in a zipper,to hold buttons in place while I sew them on, any time I use pipeing or lace, to hold “slick” fabrics together – makes it so much easier to sew those seams!! Anyway I use alot of it.
Dritz Wonder Tape is my number 1 supply I am always looking for. My husband sews also, so he takes it and doesn’t return it. He does that with a lot of my notions, leaving me to search his messy area for them. When notions go on sale for 50% off at the fabric store, I stock up on Wonder Tape and machine needles mainly.
I always need extra straight pins because I have a couple of projects going at once or the current project uses all my pins up.
Machine needles, normal needles ie, the ones without too small holes to put the thread thru, and safety pins are things I constantly look for. Thanks for the giveaway.
I am ALWAYS in need of new sewing needles and pins! It seems I go through them so fast! I wonder what happens to them all! I’m off to put a new needle in my machine now and pin together a purse I’m making!
Scissors…it seems my good sewing scissors always disappear to other places in the house…everyone knows where to look for scissors, my sewing room…
I always need needles
Big safety pins for holding the layers of quilts together! I start pinning and always seem to run out of pins before I run out of quilt!
I am always needing bobbins!
I go through a lot thread…..usually I’m out of a particular color when I’m ready to start a new sewing project.
Thread!
Thread! No matter what colors I buy, never seam to have the right one, and neutral colors just disappear when I need them.
I find that I can always use a good needle threader.
I so could use this…and i just love free craft things
I can always use a good needle threader.
Bobbins seem to be the one thing I need the most. Why can’
t someone invent a bobbin that uses just the amount you need for a project. There is always extra and you just hate to take it off and throw it away.
needles
I seem to break a needle every time I sew and therefore I seem to run out of sewing macine needles at the worst possible time!
Thread and fusible webbing. I never have the right color thread!!!
Needles. They seem to disappear like magic.
Embroidery needles are always in demand with me. I love Sew News.
I’m sure I don’t even know what I’m missing. I only have a few sewing supplies. When I read blogs and browse around online I see so many cool tools that I’ve never heard of and that would surely make sewing easier and more fun. I guess if I had to choose I’d say scissors. I’m always laying them down in one place and needing them in another. Thanks for the giveaway.
I need some double sewing machine needles and some ball point for sewing knit
I always need a good needle threader and more thread. Constantly winding new colors onto bobbins. Great giveaway!
Sewing machine needles and glass headed fine pins.
Fabric! (sigh) I just can never have enough! LOL
I am always in need of needles, both handsewing and machine needles.
Straight pins- good ones. The crummy ones seem to multiply, while the good ones disappear.
You got it–thread and the right size hand needle. Must go on the hunt for the needles every time. It’s exhausting!
Sewing machine needles is the supply I seem to run out of and end up making a special trip to pick up. Need to buy them in bulk so I have them I guess.
My seam ripper is never in sight when I need it.
I seem to always run out of good sharp pins. Love to have a variety, so the right ones are never in enough supply!
I always use a hand needle to hem my dresses or anything with a deep hem, it just looks better to me. Oh to have someplace handy to store them and retrieve them! And have you ever tried to the sticky-back hook and loop tape by hand? What a mess!! Something to keep the needle ‘slick’ would be helpful!
Everything!!! :/
A seam ripper!
Actually I’m always in need of Fray Check. I frequently use it at the end of a seam, or when tieing threads off.
I need pins, especially the superfine ones, so they don’t leave holes in my thin fabrics. Plus a good supply of zippers and thread. Never used the wonder tape, but would love to try it!
I always have a plethora of ballpoint needles when I am sewing wovens, but when I want a knit dress I only have standard needles. Where are all my ball points going?!
I’m always running to a store for interfacing and machine needles.
Needles of all kinds and thread. I never seem to have the right size needle or the right color of thread.
I just started sewing and I never have the correct color thread. I have just ordered 20 spools of different colors to start building my supply.
