Happy Friday! It’s time for another Free Stuff giveaway! Today we’re awarding one lucky reader with The Fashion Designer’s Handbook & Kit: Learn to Sew and Become a Designer in 33 Fabulous Projects. This fabulous kit is perfect for aspiring fashion designers (age 8 and up), and comes with a mini dress form, 24 reusable mini patterns, decorative fabrics, rickrack, embroidery thread and a tape measure. It would make an awesome gift for anyone you know who wants to start designing and sewing clothes.
To enter to win the kit, answer the following question in the comments section: What’s the best advice you’d give to a sewing beginner?
We’ll randomly choose a winner on Monday. Good luck!

I would advise to take a beginner class or course to learn the right way.
I’m still kind of a sewing beginner myself, but I would say to just jump in and try it – sewing is easier than it looks!

Chose cotton fabric you love, a simple pattern, follow the direction. The result will make you proud of how much you learned and your final project.
My advice to a beginner in sewing is just take your time..start w/
plain square items..a straight skirt..or just small..also
learn to cut your patterns-as they are the most
important 1st step and just let the years
give your the experience…
My advice for abeginning sewing is buy a sewing book, for beginners and take a class at your local sewing store.
i would buy a beginning sewing book and read all the lessons there.
I would say don’t worry if your project doesn’t turn out perfect. Usually you are the only one who notices & it will be a lot more fun & not as frustrating. I have personally struggled with this.
