Welcome to another edition of Free Stuff Friday!
For the Sew News staff, this Friday is full of dogs in the office, frozen yogurt and lots of editing of Sew it All. We had a fun week welcoming writer Sharon Madsen to the office for the afternoon on Wednesday and celebrating the release of Sew it All 4 on newsstands at Fabric Bliss on Tuesday! We hope your week has been as great (and a little less busy) as ours has been!
Today we’re giving away a little package! It includes:
- A copy of The Handmade Marketplace: How to Sell Your Crafts Locally, Globally and Online by Kari Chapin!
- A sample 2 pack of pink and yellow Country Yarn Thread from brother! (Not pictured but great!)
- And last but not least, a Simplicity Studio 12 1/2″ Simpli-ez Rule by Darlene Zimmerman!

All you have to do to enter to win this fun set of prizes is post your answer to the following question in the comments section at the end of this post:
What are your favorite Etsy shops? Tell us about the coolest sewing related thing you have bought on Etsy! Or, do you have an Etsy shop yourself?
We’ll randomly select one comment and announce the winner on Monday! Good luck and have an awesome weekend!

I love Esty, but have never bought anything. It is just too hard to decide from all the cool things these fabulous seamstress artist create. I do hope one day to join the ranks of seller’s.
I only been a few times on Etsy because there is so much to see I can only do it when I have some extra time. I think it’s a great place to sell and buy some family members are sellers and they love it.
I don’t have an etsy shop but i was thinking about it until i realized i don’t have the time to do the shipping portion with my current job. so i scratched that. I usually go to etsy for funky yoga pants and bellydance pants. they are very hard to make by hand (yet I am still trying to learn). My favorite item I have purchased on etsy was a pair of flared pink and black striped yoga pants. i love them. i feel semi like a pirate.
happy friday!
Sure could use that book to market my wall quilts to supplement family income now that I am permanently disabled and unable to work! The quilt tool would be a bonus, but very useful tool to help with my quilting!

I love Naptime Diaries! I haven’t bought much on etsy but I have purchased a few machine embroidery designs
I don’t have one favorite site. I like to look at all the neat things people make. I haven’t ordered anything yet
I don’t have a favorite Etsy shop, but I do enjoy looking at things from time to time. I haven’t bought anything from Etsy. I’ve been dreaming about having a presence on Etsy, but I haven’t done anything about it. Maybe this book would give me the kick I need to get started.
I actually have not bought from Etsy because the shipping is too much for where I live. Nonetheless, I would love to buy some vintage spools from there – something like this http://www.etsy.com/listing/95667799/mason-jar-filled-w-vintage-wooden would look awesome on the corner of anyone’s crafting nook, am I right or am I right?
I have an etsy site and a few listings , but no luck selling any of my jewelry or getting any orders for customized story wall quilts yet!
As I said in earlier post need that book to hopefully give me some good advise and direction to channel my quilting and crafting into a small business .

Etsy is where I get ideas for projects, buying patterns for sewing and or crocheting.
I love Etsy even though I have never bought anything…yet. My favorite shop is Moose Country because it is my friends shop. She is super talented. I have a new shop DinahRickcreations. I am a new crafter/sewer and I need photography help with my items posted, but I am enjoying learning new things each day.
Don’t have an etsy shop, and neither shop at one of them. Just don’t like shopping over the internet. Love to go to a store to buy the things I need.
I love Etsy. So much to look at and marvel. I hope to sometime in the very near future to have my own ‘shop’. Right now, we’re busy setting up the ‘sewing/craft room’. (yeah!)
My son recently graduated college, and I had a grad party for him. His school uses the fleur de lis in its logo, and I wanted fleur de lis confetti for the table and fleur de lis cupcake toppers. Morell Designs on Etsy had just the thing. They were also willing to make said items in red and black, school colors. Service was prompt. The party was a great success thanks in part to these items.
Etsy is great!
What a great sentimental keepsake!
When I got married in October 2010, I found SheriAngellCreations. Her speciality is hand embroidering bridal hankerchiefs. I had her make one for each Mother, Grandmother and Aunt. She even put flowers on each of them in our wedding colors and wedding date. On the back, she included a heart and our intitals. All of them brought their custom hankies to our beach side wedding.
Also, Aleighasarts is a fun little etsy shop. She does everything from lampwork glass beads to “Fright Fellows” and “Mini Mums”. Fun plushie pillows and stuffed toys. I have a Fright Fellow and a Mini Mum in my guest room at home. Great conversation pieces!
I got a necklace from sweetbluebirdjewelry that was great. She threw in a pair of earrings.
I’ve browsed Etsy a few times but have never purchased anyting. Yet.
I’m hoping to open my on Etsy shop at some point in the not too distant future.
I like searching etsy, but I have not bought anything yet. There are too many things to look at. I will buy something soon because my birthday is coming up!
I haven’t bought from Etsey shop as I’ve just discovered a few of them, at 74 I’m learning all I can about the computer, and all the things I can find with it. Sure wish it was available years ago, found pintrest, and have been enjoying pinning and etc. with that, what a different world.
I have bought slippers for my daughter from Kaya’s closet. I love to look at the doll clothes and stuff; I have made some for my daughter with the sewing machine my husband bought me for christmas. But we plan to get her bitty babies for her b-day in September and they have such adorable clothes for boy and girl twins on there with a lot cheaper price tags, which is good on the wallet once you spend so much on the dolls.
I bought a beautiful hand turned seam ripper from the etsy shop During Quiet Times.
I have heard of Etsey, but have not purchased anything; but I would like to share a very cool sewing tool…the sew eze snips by Havel..they are small, have spring action on the handle and are great as a seam ripper.
I love etsy! I don’t have one favorite store but I buy a lot of craft supplies there, including fabric and scrapbooking materials.
I haven’t been on Etsy much. I think I get jealous that I didn’t come up with all those creative ideas. Lol. I do have some ideas circling in my head though, so the book included as part of the give away would be just the thing I need!!!
I’ve never been on Etsy so I am going there after I post this comment….I am sure I will find way too many things that I want!
My favorite Esty is anyone that sells jewelry. I can always find something different there.
I love esty but haven’t bought or sold yet, just getting ideas!!
Bought many things on etsy so I can’t really pinpoint one particular shop – except for -
http://www.etsy.com/shop/StrapTeezeStudio
Fashionable camera straps and camera strap covers for your DSLR camera to show the world your personality! (What a shameless plug – haha! That’s my shop!)
Etsy has so many creative shops and wonderful sellers who will work with you so that you get that perfect item – I became hooked and that is when I opened my little ‘store’
I enjoy looking at all the options on Etsy, but have not bought anything at this point. How long do you think it will be before etsy is an accepted Scrabble word?
I have only looked at etsy a couple times……amazing stuff.
I have co-worker who has a shop on Etsy, but I’ve never bought anything.

thanks
My sister and I have an Etsy shop, JaspersPlasticSpoons. We specialize in cord covers, but also sell other handmade items such as purses, fabric, patterns, etc. I love sewing, crochet and knitting. I have purchased a few supplies on Etsy, but usually, if I can make it myself I don’t buy it.
My favorite Etsy shop is SewingSeed which has cross stitch patterns/kits. They have great designs that are simple and quick. I also like the shops that sell fabric baby booties mostly because I’ve been unable to make them myself (they’re so tiny!). Gigglebox has some great kids shoes.
I don’t have my own Etsy shop . . . yet.
I don’t have a favorite – there are too many to choose from. I have one myself too, artdolls.
I do not have a favorite, I do not shop much on Etsy.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I do have a store at etsy but it has been non active for like a year, hope I will star soon again, I love most of children clothes, bags, etc. stores at etsy I could be hours just browsing.
I have never bought anything-YET–on Etsy, but I do like to visit Loretta Alvarado’s page. I see her every summer at the Laguna Beach Art A Fair and she’s the one who instroduced my to Etsy. I would love to have my own Etsy page someday.
I haven’t bought anything on Etsy. I look often at quilt related shops but my favorite is “In His Grace”. She has beautiful multi-media prints.
