I love my rotary cutters!! I have different sizes, and brands. They make cutting fabric for quilts so much easier. And I would love a chance to win a new tool!

  2. Sue says:

My favorite sewing tool/aid is my mat. I’ve had one made of heavy cardboard, in years past, now it’s heavy duty and durable, like rubber; otherwise am cutting out patterns on a sturdy plastic table.

  3. Ricky says:

so totally the ripper i make so many mistakes because i forget to do things slowly
up next is my mat and rotary those 2 are just awesoem

  4. JEAN says:

I have a special tool that I use which is actually a medical clamp. If I am haveing a hard time pulling a need though on something or need to reach something that has fallen into the sewing machine it is great.. I have used it to do many other oddball things. It is like a long pair of needle nose pliers . The seam ripper is something anybody who sews cannot live without. I use it also to push things through the sewing machine like a stilleto.

  5. Jamie F says:

It’s not a “tool” but I just got a serger and I I don’t know how I ever lived without it!

  6. Shirley says:

Having a big lots of pins of several sizes would have to be a top treasure. and a big magnetic wand to pick them up if they scatter.

  7. Stephanie Warhurst says:

It would have to be my German heavy duty scissors, they are like 15yrs old and AWESOME! I also like to use my foldable emboidery snippers, and an OLD pair of shears from beauty school, lol!

  8. Felecia C says:

After several years on sewing hiatus, I have jumped in again, I love the rotary cutters and mats, available now. Don’t know why I never had one before.

  9. Maureen says:

My favorite tool are the binding clips (red/clear). They work on everything that can’t or shouldn’t be pinned!

  10. Annette Sharpe says:

My favourite item is a measuring tool of 6ins long and 5/8th of an inch wide as everything my husband and I buy has to to turned up, hems and sleeves etc. I also use it to mark seams allowance on patterns, a very useful small and inexpensive item.

  11. CINDY says:

I love my iron. Pressing always helps.

  12. Adaire says:

My bodkin is my favorite. So useful for turning things and poking out corners, especially on home decor items and children’s clothes.

  13. It is called a Thing Ama Jig – and what it does is pull drawstrings that have come out of hoodies and drawstrings from waistbands back. It is approximately a foot long, solid and tubular in shape, it has a smaller (thinner) piece of plastic attached with a big eye (like a needle) on the end of it that you pin the drawstring or elastic to. Zip you’re done. It takes longer to pin the string to the end than it does to pull it through the opening!

  14. Stacey says:

I seem to use the seam ripper a lot! But my favorite is my pair of Kai 12″ scissors – the blade is so sharp and cuts so easily. Wish I would’ve owned them ages ago!

  15. Jenny F says:

I have been using a rotary cutter lately, love it. Also, not really a tool but I love Fray Check!

Think my needle inserter is my favorite. Good for these dimming eyes.

  21. Rina Mason says:

My special tool is really part of a rug weaving kit from the 80′s. It’s made of wood, has one end that is pointed and the other is flat with a small hole in it. I use it to turn tubes and make sure corners are a perfect point. Also works as a stiletto when needed.

  22. Judy says:

Could not live without my seam ripper!! Plus a good supply of new needles.

  23. Rosemary Griffis says:

A small, very sharp pair of scissors that I got with my sewing machine. Also, I have 4 seam rippers (one is in my purse for those tags that get you in the back of the neck when you’re not home). Next is the tube turner, then, all my wonderful sewing machine feet that do the work for you. Stabilizer is great for slippery and lightweight fabrics. I’m going to have to look into double-sided wash-away tape.

  24. Barbara Corrado says:

    My sidekick bobbin winder.

  25. SuZann says:

I can’t sew without my awl. It’s like my 3rd hand.

  28. valeriec says:

My computer where I can get all kinds of ideals!

  29. Cheryl says:

I love my needle case that I made myself. It’s like a little book with padded “pages” and clear pockets to keep all different sizes of sewing machine and hand sewing needles handy and organized. I can find the exact thing I’m looking for quickly. Love it!

  30. Susette says:

It would have to be my seam ripper…I don’t know what I would do without it.

  32. sue cook says:

My tweezers must always be within reach!

  33. Peggy A. says:

My favorite tool is my pin cushion. His name is Jeremiah, a four legged frog with a top hat. Jeremiah can lay flat or sit up tall. He holds pattern pieces down, keeps pins off the floor, and his hat sharpens my needles. He is so darn cute he can always make me smile.

  34. Dell M says:

I like my curved embroidery scissors because you can snip your threads much closer without cutting the fabric.

  35. Heddy Niedzwiecki says:

A good assortment of pins and needles.. Long and short. Makes it easy for projects

  36. Carla says:

A needle threader! Since when do I need special glasses to sew??

  37. Kim D says:

I have a little tool I bought at a Sandra Betzina seminar years ago. It is like a little scapel with a curved pointed blade. Works wonders when a seam ripper just can’t get the job done. I have no idea what it is called.

  38. Chris in OKC says:

My favorite tool is something I took from my husband – his magnetic bowl. It is supposed to be used for nuts, bolts and such. I use it for pins and needles. It keeps them neatly at hand and I don’t have to worry about spilling a container of pins everywhere.

My clapper because so much of what makes a garment look great is attention to pressing.

My hem gauage slide ruler and taylors chalk pencil is some of my favorite tools…..most used and favorite is my ginger scissors

  43. Carol Womack says:

Seam ripper. Invented by a genius.

  44. Evelyn says:

One of my favorite sewing tools is the Shape Cut Plus that allows me to cut fabric strips for quilts far more easily, accurately, and quickly than any ruler I’ve tried so far.
