  2. The last time I made a skirt….
Hmmm… I guess I have NEVER made a skirt, but I have made a few dresses many, many years ago! I have not worn them for about 15 years or so. I do have on my agenda to start sewing some new dresses for my daughter. This book looks fabulous. I will definitely be checking out how to make a raincoat from a shower curtain! How clever!

  3. amy mayer says:

actually is was just a couple months ago –I decided to get back into fashion sewing, found a great colored sheet to practice on and lo and behold it came out nice enough to wear out in public!

  4. Melanie says:

it’s been awhile since i made a skirt! probably 10 years :( hmmm guess i need to make one!!

  6. Sarah Ehlers says:

I don’t think I have ever made a skirt! My mother tried to teach me how to sew as a little girl and I loved to make simple things like pillows, stuffed animals, etc. I may have made a skirt back then, but it’s pretty hard for me to remember…That would have been almost 20 years ago! I began working at a quilt shop last year and I began to learn more and more about sewing. I has become a new hobby of mine and I absolutely LOVE IT! I would love to win this book to learn more about making clothing! :)

  7. Lorna says:

I am making lots of skirts….for my 9 year old grand daughter and 3 year old grand niece. They are the simplest sewing there is! a couple of side seams. Top gathered and stitched to some 1 1/2 inch colored contrasting or matching elastic waistband. A zig zagged hem…and walla! a skirt in less than an hour that fits perfectly and looks so cute on little ones. And fun when she tells friends, grandma made it especially for her.

  8. Estella says:

The last time I made a skirt…in real life or in my head? LOL! I believe it was sometime before my daughter was born. I used to sew a lot in my twenties. I made several things including a suit with matching jacket and skirt. I just bought some fabric to make a couple of skirts, but that only counts when they are done!

  9. Violet says:

The last time I made a skirt was in 1974 in high school home ec class. The skirt was for myself and turned out fairly nice as I recall. I just bought a new sewing machine so maybe I can finally make another one.

  10. I am still in process of making a skirt white with black flowers for me to wear to church.

  11. Jaye says:

I made a skirt last month to wear to a wedding.

  12. Beth says:

I finished a skirt yesterday for my 15 year old daughter and she wore it to school today. It was a beautiful sateen cotton skirt that sits right on her hips like she likes, has pockets, and is hemmed to hit her at the perfect flattering point at her knees. So much better than anything we can buy for her!

  13. Beverly Belaska says:

I made 2 skirts last week I prefer skirts to pants

  16. Barb says:

Does a poufy tulle skirt for a Halloween costume count? I made it in different shades of purple and came as the purple witch.

  17. Heather Carroll says:

I made a matching daughter/mom set last year, but now my daughter won’t wear skirst without shorts underneath.

  18. Beulah says:

About 2 years ago… It was a costume used in a lesson for 4th and 5th grade students about the use of quilts as ‘maps’ for the pathway to freedom…great lesson used art, quilting, history, drama….students loved it.

  19. Lana McHatten says:

I have made dresses for my granddaughters when they were very young and have made fleece jackets, but have never made a skirt. I am retired and I’m an RVr, setting up for 4-5 months at a time and carry my sewing machine, cutting boards and all the necessary tools with me. I love to do small quilt projects, and welcome sewing and quilting patterns that are easy to cut and sew while I’m “hooked up”.

  20. Penny D. says:

I made a skirt about two weeks ago. My first wrap skirt. I LOVE IT. It’s so comfortable.

My most recent skirt sewing was at the request of my daughter. We repurposed some t-shirts to make a skirt.

  28. Dana says:

The last time I made a skirt was in June. I made one for each of my 3 three granddaughters. A simple gather of material, a t-shirt, and a button for the flower which I attached to the t-shirt. So cute!

  29. Roberta Schultz says:

It’s been a while for me too! I don’t get a chance to wear them all that often, so I don’t
    make them.

  30. Jeanne says:

I haven’t been doing much fashion sewing for a number of years but I am ready to start again because what I find in the stores doesn’t fit my taste or body! I really can do it, I used to be a sewing teacher! I would love to have this book with current methods and patterns!

  31. Phyllis F says:

I made a skirt for the Simplicity ASG pattern contest a few months ago.

  32. Susan More says:

I’ve made about a dozen skirts over the past 2 weeks. Not for me…but for 18inch dolls. Gearing up for Christmas and I have a list of 6 girls that I make doll clothes for.

The last time I made a skirt was a short circle skirt for Roller Derby (for myself) out of an adorable knit that had words like “pow” and “kaboom” on it, so I’d feel like a superhero on the track :)

I made a skirt about 5 years ago. I saw a really cute one at the mall and decided to copy it. I made it by duplicating a “J” type pattern piece 8 times, stitching them together, adding a zipper and it was done. It was very cute. The bottom of the “J” pieces made the skirt a fun twirling skirt to wear!

  44. Sue Winnie says:

Last time I made a skirt was for myself as a nurse. Many years ago. Can,t tell you when. I do alterations and no one gets skirts any more. They are easy to mix and match

I made a skirt about a month ago for a 6 month old baby girl. I took a pair of my kids old jeans (boys 6 month size), cut them off below the back pockets and attached a two strips of girly fabric. I came out really cute. It was a great way to upcycle some old baby clothes.
