  1. glenda choat says:

Last week I finished a skirt.

  2. Mary M says:

In my head I’ve made several recently. I’ve been wanting to make a skirt and I haven’t found the perfect material yet. The last time I actually made one was 15 years ago for my 5 year old niece in her favorite color – polka dots.

  3. Evelyn says:

The only skirt I ever made was in 7th grade sewing class.

  4. Pat Hersl says:

I’m thinking back and the last one I can remember was a wrap skirt for my mother. Pop was still alive and he passed in 1983. Can’t even do the math. But I have been making little dresses for my baby granddaughter. Quilting has taken me away!

  5. Bev Weis says:

The last skirt I made was for a young girl, reversible with an elastic waist
and jumbo rickrack at the hemline between the skirt layers. Easy to make
& fun to wear! Would love more easy skirt patterns, esp for grownups.

  6. Lisa says:

I made a skirt earlier this summer — I love making skirts, especially easy summer ones with a few gathers and elastic waists.

  7. Sativa Albers says:

I haven’t sewn a skirt yet….but I will soon for my Daughter’s School Clothes. I Just started sewing 9 months ago.

  8. Carol K E says:

Several skirts in the last few months for our grand daughters. I also hemmed a skirt for our daughter and a friend of hers. The one for the friend was white linen with a lace insert — my 5 1/2 year old grand daughter offered the opinion that Mrs. ___ should be sure to wear white panties under it. Good to learn that at an early age! The most special skirt I worked with was helping my 7 1/2 year old grand daughter sew her very first skirt. She learned the rule: “As ye sew, so shall ye rip,” but her skirt turned out great!

  9. michele gillombardo says:

I made one for my daughter a few years ago. She actually just ask me again to make her another. Very different style this time around.

  10. LauraM says:

Made a tiered skirt a month or so ago.

  11. Carmi says:

It’s been ages, although I have bought fabric to make a couple. I haven’t gotten to them yet.

  12. Mary says:

I think the last skirt I made was a “Sudoku” skirt for my granddaughter from Ottobre magazine. I do love to sew!

  13. Sunny says:

Des this count? I am in the process of making one. It has six gores linked with godets.
I love clothes that are that are worth the time spent making them.

  14. Brigid says:

I love new books on pattern making and wardrobe planning!

  15. Patricia Lenhart says:

Wow, because I never wear skirts anymore, it has been a long time. But I did make one for my granddaughter 2 years ago. Also I have bought fabric to make two skirts, but it is still sitting in my sewing room.

  16. Ali M says:

Hmm, I think it was about three months now, I had some issues with the scalloped edge at the bottom so I gave up and haven’t felt like trying my hand at another one!

  17. Amy S says:

Just a couple weeks ago I finished a skirt in an adorable sailboat print and someone asked me if I bought it at Anthropologie, score! I love making clothes and this book has some fantastic options!

  20. Savannagal says:

I’ve never made a skirt. But would love to give it a try.

  21. Patty Gaugler says:

I made a skirt about two years ago, quickly, from black fabric to wear with a dressy top. In the meantime I’ve altered several skirts. I’m short. I’ve bought them on sale and at thrift stores for just a few dollars and then make them fit. Sometimes I cut off the waist to save a pretty hem finish of ruffles, sometimes I cut off the hem and shorten them the easy way. It’s great to know how to sew, insert zippers, make elastic casings, to make clothes fit properly instead of just making do.

  22. Glenda DeLillo says:

I made a skirt for myself at the beginning of July. It was a simple white skirt with a draw string waist.

  23. Rhonda T says:

The last time I made a skirt was in high school home ec class. I mostly sew things for my home now, but I am starting to think about making clothes again, possibly making my own pattern from some clothes I already have, because they are such a good fit.

  24. Susan says:

In my classes we make them often!

  25. Deb Y says:

I made a skirt last summer because I couldn’t find the type of skirt that I wanted in any clothing stores, but I was able to find a perfect pattern for it. I used a stretch cotton material that is SO comfortable. I wish I had more time to make all of my clothes!

  26. Francine says:

I last made a skirt in high school for home ec. I remember being very proud of my lavender wrap-around skirt. I discovered that sewing was a good, fun way for my stepmom and I to connect. We still do!

  27. Loretta T says:

Yesterday, niece needed a new “school spirit” skirt to wear at first game this weekend.

  28. Michelle Edgerton says:

Last time I made a skirt was about 2 years ago. I made a simple A frame skirt with elastic. Even though I will not where it because of the style and color, it was an easy pattern to show my sewing students.

  29. Michelle Edgerton says:

Last time I made a skirt was about 2 1/2 years ago. I made a simple A frame skirt with elastic. Even though I would not where it because of the style and color, it was a great easy pattern to show my sewing students.

  30. Nancy says:

The last time I made a skirt was when I was in high school. I am short and find that skirts are not the best choice for me to wear, so I usually make tops, pants and dresses instead.

  31. Paula says:

The last skirt I made was approximatey 7 years ago. I made a simple one with an elastic waist line for a co-worker. She really did like it also.

  32. Debra G says:

The last time I made a skirt I was 50 pounds lighter and still working. Now I am retired and looking forward to making skirts again that are fun and cool for hot summer temperatures as my extra pounds melt away.

  33. Melissa Harrison says:

It has been since I was 15, and my grandmother taught me how to sew an A-line dreas with a ruffled skirt underneath it.

  34. Vickie T says:

The last time I made a skirt was when my daughter was in a school play. Man that was so long ago I had almost forgotten about it.

  35. K. Hoffman says:

In college during a tailoring class. :(

  36. barbara says:

I made a skirt for my granddaughter this summer. Does that count?

  37. Michelle Hall says:

I think the last skirt I made was for my daughter about 10 years ago. I haven’t been sewing for years and now I want to start again.

  38. Lawana Whaley says:

hmmmm. a skirt? have to think hard to remember the last time I wore a skirt, much less made one… probably was about 5 years ago

  39. Kimberly N says:

Before my two year old was born! I have had plans to make myself another one, but just haven’t gotten to it. I’ll probably make her a skirt before myself! :)

  40. It’s been too long! I tried to sew this one hour skirt from and etsy tutorial and I didn’t measure my body right. It looked like a tube top that I couldn’t pull all the way up over my butt. I’m gonna try circle skirts instead. I want to make my very own wardrobe eventually.

  41. Marilee Rowe says:

Last time a made a skirt was for my granddaughters for 4th of July. They looked so cute. And they were so simple to make. I enjoy sewing for them, I just wish I had more time.

  45. ivette says:

I have recently begun with patterns with the hope of saving time from the usual. Self.drafting. I recently proudly made a knit top this way. However my last skirt was self drafted made 10 y ears ago. It was made of a transparent printed sheer in a soft peach color. I underlined it. Pieced lining and fabric with tailors tacks. I placed a. zipper.delicately as to keep a soft silhouette I remember getting so many compliments . But nothing beat the feeling I had for creating it myself.

  46. Daphne Clarke says:

In May. I’m also going to make a few this week for work.

  47. I’m in the process of dismantling a skirt I love to make a pattern so I can make it in different materials.

  48. Maria Kievit says:

I was trying to think back as to when I last made a skirt, and actually came to the conclusion that it was just this past April or May, for a pregnant lady who couldn’t find anything in her size to wear for the last couple of months of her pregnancy. Thanks for another wonderful giveaway.

  49. Mayra Gaal says:

The last time I sewed a skirt I was in High School for a home ec project. It is definitely on my to do/wish list. I want to be able to make my own clothes and pass the art of sewing to my kids.
