The last time I sewed a skirt I was in High School for a home ec project. It is definitely on my to do/wish list. I want to be able to make my own clothes and pass the art of sewing to my kids.

  2. Maria Kievit says:

I was trying to think back as to when I last made a skirt, and actually came to the conclusion that it was just this past April or May, for a pregnant lady who couldn’t find anything in her size to wear for the last couple of months of her pregnancy. Thanks for another wonderful giveaway.

  3. I’m in the process of dismantling a skirt I love to make a pattern so I can make it in different materials.

In May. I’m also going to make a few this week for work.

  5. ivette says:

I have recently begun with patterns with the hope of saving time from the usual. Self.drafting. I recently proudly made a knit top this way. However my last skirt was self drafted made 10 y ears ago. It was made of a transparent printed sheer in a soft peach color. I underlined it. Pieced lining and fabric with tailors tacks. I placed a. zipper.delicately as to keep a soft silhouette I remember getting so many compliments . But nothing beat the feeling I had for creating it myself.

  10. It’s been too long! I tried to sew this one hour skirt from and etsy tutorial and I didn’t measure my body right. It looked like a tube top that I couldn’t pull all the way up over my butt. I’m gonna try circle skirts instead. I want to make my very own wardrobe eventually.

  11. Kimberly N says:

Before my two year old was born! I have had plans to make myself another one, but just haven’t gotten to it. I’ll probably make her a skirt before myself! :)

  25. Deb Y says:

I made a skirt last summer because I couldn’t find the type of skirt that I wanted in any clothing stores, but I was able to find a perfect pattern for it. I used a stretch cotton material that is SO comfortable. I wish I had more time to make all of my clothes!

  26. Susan says:

In my classes we make them often!

  27. Rhonda T says:

The last time I made a skirt was in high school home ec class. I mostly sew things for my home now, but I am starting to think about making clothes again, possibly making my own pattern from some clothes I already have, because they are such a good fit.

  28. Glenda DeLillo says:

I made a skirt for myself at the beginning of July. It was a simple white skirt with a draw string waist.

  29. Patty Gaugler says:

I made a skirt about two years ago, quickly, from black fabric to wear with a dressy top. In the meantime I’ve altered several skirts. I’m short. I’ve bought them on sale and at thrift stores for just a few dollars and then make them fit. Sometimes I cut off the waist to save a pretty hem finish of ruffles, sometimes I cut off the hem and shorten them the easy way. It’s great to know how to sew, insert zippers, make elastic casings, to make clothes fit properly instead of just making do.

  35. Patricia Lenhart says:

Wow, because I never wear skirts anymore, it has been a long time. But I did make one for my granddaughter 2 years ago. Also I have bought fabric to make two skirts, but it is still sitting in my sewing room.

  36. Brigid says:

I love new books on pattern making and wardrobe planning!

  42. Carol K E says:

Several skirts in the last few months for our grand daughters. I also hemmed a skirt for our daughter and a friend of hers. The one for the friend was white linen with a lace insert — my 5 1/2 year old grand daughter offered the opinion that Mrs. ___ should be sure to wear white panties under it. Good to learn that at an early age! The most special skirt I worked with was helping my 7 1/2 year old grand daughter sew her very first skirt. She learned the rule: “As ye sew, so shall ye rip,” but her skirt turned out great!

& fun to wear! Would love more easy skirt patterns, esp for grownups.

  46. Pat Hersl says:

I’m thinking back and the last one I can remember was a wrap skirt for my mother. Pop was still alive and he passed in 1983. Can’t even do the math. But I have been making little dresses for my baby granddaughter. Quilting has taken me away!

The only skirt I ever made was in 7th grade sewing class.
