Hello again readers, and welcome to Day 10 of our 13 Days of Giveaways to celebrate SIA TV season 4 airing on PBS THIS Saturday, Sept 1!
Thank you all for sharing your sewing-room sewing stories. Maybe I should have asked ‘Do you have a sewing room?’! The things we have to put up with to support our addiction! Though I just got a new desk for it, my sewing room was just combined with our guest/storage/junk room. Not much space to spread out, but hey, my sewing machine fits in it, so I guess I’m all set.
Make some more stuff for your sewing room: Check out Jacquie Gering’s instructions for creating matching curtains, a stool cover and a sewing machine cover in her season 3 episode, “Sewing Space Spruce-Up.”
Yesterday’s winner won the book Quilting Modern by Jacquie Gering and Katie Pedersen.
And that winner is Margo, who has sewn “pincushions and a bag for my snipped-off threads for my sewing room.” Congrats Margo, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your mailing address to receive your prize!
Our Day 10 prize is the book Sulky Secrets to Successful Applique by Joyce Drexler!
Learn about other cool stuff you can do with stabilizer from Ellen Osten’s episode “Serger Crochet” where she demonstrates how to make a tutu using a serger to emulate the look of crochet.
Enter to win this book by answering the following question in the comments section, “What is your favorite part of a project: the Beginning, Middle or End?”
I love designing a project, sketching and choosing fabrics. In the middle I get lazy, but when the end draws near, nothing’s better than seeing your dream come to life! What’s your favorite part?
The winner will be announced tomorrow, along with the Day 11 prize! Good luck and have a great day
