National Make It With Wool Winner Announced!

This year’s National Make It With Wool contest drew extraordinary seamstresses from around the nation.  All the contestants made stunning creations out of wool and truly  showed it’s beauty and versatility for use in garments.

This year’s contest was sponsored by many great organizations and companies that value the art of sewing garments and the beauty of wool. SEW NEWS, Creative Machine Embroidery and Creative Crafts Group were delighted to be a part of this wonderful opportunity.   For a complete list of sponsors click here.

This year’s winner is Kylie Manville from Kansas.

Johanna Svensson from Washington state won the $500.00  “Creative Machine Embroidery” Award also at the National Make It With Wool contest.

    Probably the most well known stripe today is the pin stripe. It is a very thin (not wider than about 1/18 inch usually about 1/30 inch wide) single stripe that gives the impression of a pinhead spot. A single warp yarn is used to create a stripe, while the distance between the stripes usually ranges from 1/10 inch up to 1 inch.
