Happy Monday! It’s an exciting week ahead, as Jessie and I are traveling to Fort Worth for a Texas-style weekend of fun at the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo and we want to see you there! The show takes place this Thursday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 19th at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Not only will we be in the Make-It Center, teaching how to sew quick and easy projects including a super simple infinity scarf (tutorial here), we’re also bringing along our awesome Sew it All TV photo booth, so you can get your picture taken and find your fabulous self featured on our Facebook page! Here are Jessie, Courtney and I demonstrating the photo booth here in the office:
Are you feeling lucky? The Original Sewing & Quilt Expo always includes lots of fantastic sewing giveaways and drawings, including the chance to win a sewing machine donated by the sponsors of the show! How cool is that? We’ll also be giving away lots of Sew it All swag, including DVDs, magazine subscriptions, free DailyCraftTV classes and more. Make sure to stop by the Sew it All Lounge at 3PM on Thursday and Friday for your chance to win!
The Expo is also simply chock-full of sewing inspiration, including classes, fabulous shopping, make-it-take-it projects, fashion shows and more. Our buddy Kay Whitt of Sew Serendipity, who was just here in Colorado taping an episode for next season of Sew it All, will be showcasing her beautiful clothing designs and patterns in runway showcase on Thursday and Saturday. Kay is the author of several excellent sewing books, including Sew Serendipity Bags, one of my presonal favorites:
The Expo is a wonderful chance to come and take a class from one of your favorite sewing educators, pattern designers or authors as well. There’s a great list of courses to choose from, including classes taught by Sew News contributors Linda Lee, Linda McGahee, Debra Justice, Barb Callahan and Pattie Otto. Check out the full class listing and descriptions here.
