    Hi,

Do I need to purchase the pattern? If so, Is there a PDF download for it?
Also, Is the sew along LIVE only. Or can I view it when I get a chance?

    Thanks so much,
    Lela

  2. Jill says:

    Hi Lela,
You do need to purchase the pattern, and currently the Amy Butler Belle Handbag pattern is only offered as a paper pattern. The sew along is not LIVE but really like any sew-along you may have been involved with. I will post the written post on the blog along with a video embedded in the post to offer a tip or technique from Rhonda Buss. If you have questions you can post here on the blog or on the Flickr page where we have a Sew News Flickr Sew Along page. There you can post your photos or ask for help.

Let me know if that all makes sense and if you have any other questions.
    Jill

I’m waiting for my pattern to arrive. Do you have a material list you could share?
    Thanks!

  5. Jill says:

    Sure thing
On the pattern envelope the following are listed.
44″-54″ wide fabric – exterior one yard of fabric
    4 3/8″ yards of interfacing
1 3/4″ yard if using 54″ home dec fabric

44″ wide fabric for the handles and lining 2 1/4 yards of fabric for exterior
54″ wide fabric 1 3/8 yard of fabric

    Plus coordinating thread

For interfacing it is recommended to get 20″ wide fusible woven interfacing.

I do not mean to be critical but if a beginner sewist was going to try to get the items you listed it could be confusing when you put the ” symbol when listing the amount of fabric to be purchased…you put – 4 3/8″ yards of interfacing and 1 3/4″ yard if using the 54″ home dec fabric….when it should read: 4 3/8 yards of interfacing and 1 3/4 yards if using the 54″ home dec fabric. I hope you don’t think of me as being petty but I can remember starting out all details were important. Sorry if I have offended you but hope it may have made it clearer to beginners.

    Noted and corrected.
