  1. I love smaller bags. Just big enough to carry only the essentials. Credit cards, cash. Sunglasses and sometimes a sandwich or yogurt for lunch.

  2. MARY MOUGEOT says:

  3. Crystal Feliciano says:

I need a big bag since I am a wife and mom I end up carrying everything for everyone!

  4. Jackie Simms says:

My favorite bag is all types. I love big and small bags, bright and subdued colors, and lots of pockets for organization.

  5. DianeY says:

I usually like a fairly good sized bag so I can carry my tablet and a small umbrella. I do have some small ones for my rare evening out!

  6. Joanne Hios says:

I like big bags but unfortunately the bigger they are the more “stuff” I tend to fill them with so I am better off with a smaller bag with just the basic essentials.

  7. Cherita md says:

I love a smallish crossover bag :-) . Well ok also a nice big tote if I’m going on a trip & also for my yarn arts. I much prefer fabric bags bc they start out much lighter :-)

  8. Cheryl says:

My favorite style is an oversized doctor bag. I like it footed with an extra rigid bottom, and it has to open wide – with just the right number of perfectly sized pockets. Oh, it also has a slim, zippered center pouch for my tablet. Picky? Probably, but I’d make one in a heartbeat if the right pattern came along!

  9. Susan Johnson Roberts says:

I prefer a small cross body bag. One with a section for credit/id card pockets so that I don’t have to carry a wallet.

  10. kathleen says:

I like a bag that is medium in size but with pockets and with a shoulder strap. I usually carry a tote bag in the car for extra items like books, magazines or my tablet.

  11. Donna Ehle says:

I like a medium size bag that allows for room for the essentials, including tape measure. Yes pockets are necessary in order to keep cards, notepad, pens and phone from getting lost. Separate compartments are nice so that you can keep items nice and orderly.

  12. Janice urffer says:

I like hobo type and take totes to carry my sewing and craft projects hate to waste time at appointments while I am waiting.

  13. Janet Evans says:

I love small purses that hold just the essentials.

  14. Mary Mac says:

Just a small tote bag, I don’t find that I carry very much any more.

  15. janet Carpenter says:

I like a bag that is not too big but not too small. Just the right size to carry all of my everyday stuff, but not overwhelm me or be too heavy. It MUST have lots of pockets, so I can no longer be satisfied with ready made purses – not near enough pockets for me!

  16. JoAnn says:

Depends, when I need to take various items(like laptop etc) with me, my favorite is a tote bag with plenty of pockets so I can find things. For events that I really just need basics, it would be the cross body bag.

  17. Sherry Evans says:

I like a good size bag…..I once won a contest for the heaviest purse in Carnival Shoes…..it weighed 10 plus pounds!

  18. Janice R says:

I always say that my whole life is in my purse, and others are surprised that I always seem to have whatever anyone needs in it (gum, nail clippers, kleenex, ibuprofen, toothbrush, even a sewing kit with folding scissors), so I need a big cross body/shoulder bag.

  19. Terri says:

After carrying larger bags for a long time, I have come to appreciate smaller, cross body bags.

  20. Pattie Porter says:

Having to use oxygen, be it in a backpak or in a cart I pull, I prefer CROSSBODY and like to have enough room to carry a few things. Does not need to be large. Thanks for this blog and all the neat ideas you share.

  21. Deena Shepard says:

A cross body style with adjustable strap so it can be carried as over the shoulder if wearer wishes. Hobo style with pockets is great.

  24. Sylvia Higgins says:

For me the perfect handbag is on the larger side and has lots of pockets inside and outside. It will have lots of room inside for such essentials as, my ereader or book, tablet, etc. And it will also be stylish, yet classic.

  25. Mary Pape says:

Shoulder bag with outside pocket with magnetic closure. Pockets on inside. Medium size.

  26. Lori says:

I would like a bucket bag. You can get loads in it.

  30. Vickie Chupp says:

Always up to win a contest.

  31. LaTanya Walls says:

My preferred bag is a roomy crossbody. One that can accommodate my iPad as well as everything that every woman carries in her purse and then some. You know, those things that we women cannot live without. Those things may never get used or see the light of day but you never know when you’re going to have that MacGyver moment.

  32. Melissa says:

I like a big bag. Even if it isn’t full I just like the feel of it over my shoulder. It’s not that a need a big bag. In fact when I go to shows or sporting events and I know there will be no where clean or safe for my bag, I give my ID to hubbie and wing it. Still, I only carry a small bag for parties. And either way, it must have a shoulder strap.

  33. I love the Tote.
Big enough for bobbin lace kit, big enough for pic-nik, for hobbies and lap tops , you can trust it !

  34. Evelyn says:

My favorite is a crossbody. Whether a big tote or small bag, a crossbody is so much easier on my back and shoulders.

  35. Karen Middleton says:

I love big bags with plenty of pockets.

  36. Sylvia Higgins says:

For me, the perfect bag is on the larger size with lots of pockets, inside and outside. It’s got to have plenty of room inside for all my necessities, (book, ereader, tablet, etc.). Oh yeah, it also must be stylish yet classic.

  37. Renee says:

I need a bag big enough to carry my Nook but small enough to not break my back. Plus, sturdy enough to be thrown into the car or wherever else I may decide to take it… It can be a challenge at times.

  38. Marsha H says:

A woman can never have enough bags. May personal fave are tote bags to carry my knitting or counted-cross stitch.

    I <3 clutches :)

  44. Cathy Unger says:

I carry a Tote always. Then a small crossbody bag for ease.. I LOVE totes and
bags. In my younger years, new shoes/new bag.. Same shoes… New BAGS..

  45. For everyday use , I use one that holds a lot , glasses, big wallet etc. Night life, I like a cute small purse to hold the essentials.

  46. Pat Dunn says:

I like a smallish bag, but if must have enough room for a sun glass case and the usual essentials. Pockets, inside and out, are need to keep from having to dig around. I like to make make my own so I get just what I want/need.

  47. When I was younger, I always carried a large tote or purse. Now that I’m older and have back and shoulder problems, a smaller bag is what I go for. But when I go to a friends to sew, I have a larger tote because I need the room to carry my supplies. Thank you for letting me enter and I just love Sew News.

I love a good size bag that I can carry my tablet in. One with lots of pockets big and small for all the stuff I carry plus one for my medication. Gotta have that in my bag at all times so the extra pockets and dividers the better.
