    i am using old blue jeans to make denim aprons for the camp cooks. i then want to use some of the old jeans to make tote bags & potholders.

    Right now I have a silk dress I wore in the fifty’s that is at the top of my upcycle list, but I’m having a hard time deciding what to make with it! I have done many velvets & also other things. I especially like denims & wools & formals & anything to make bags.

    I love to up-cycle jeans and make purses or tote bags! I love to save old clothes and,of course, old jeans and use them in my designs.

  13. So much can be done by re-purposing ….jeans into a purse or phone case , t-shirts for doll clothes ,pillows, tank tops. And great for appliques too. This gives you a creativity release at no cost if it doesn’t work out.

    Yes! I hate to throw old clothes away. The fabric and buttons, etc. can always be recycled.

    Love to up cycle old garments! Made a skirt/vest out of a super large sized pant/jacket I got at a church rummage sale. ..great seersucker fabric. It’s one of my favorite outfits!

  31. Sometimes it is nice to take on a challange. If it doesn’t work out, the odds are you were going throw it out anyway and if it does what a great feeling – you can really do it!

    I love to alter old clothes! I do the costuming for our local high school musicals. Sometimes I have to be really creative when trying to match the time period o the show. I must say, everyone look great on stage!!

  40. Yes, I have just recently started using fabric from older clothes to embellish new tops I have made and also used a piece of an older shirt as applique fabric for an embroidery design :-)

    I LOVE upcycling old garments! I have actually gone to thrift stores to buy items I can remake and refashion. However, I am just starting out so I am not too confident yet…I am actually working on something now!
