  16. Dana Gaffney says:

I make handmade gifts whenever possible, I also really like to receive them :)

  17. I think pincushions in unique designs make great gifts for any sewist. Most of us collect them. Some of us use hand needles, and I like the idea of needle books, very much. Especially the ones with wool felt “pages”.

As a sewer who likes to do quilts and crafty items I like to give and receive gifts like homemade gift bags with items like needles, pins, rulers, rotary cutters, and gift cards to my favorite quilt stores in them. I love to make homemade items for friends and family.

  20. Christine M says:

A great gift to give a quilter is a gift voucher to their favourite shop. It is so nice to go shopping without opening your own purse. You can then splurge a little. It is also lovely to make them a special gift.

A new pair of scissors…all sharp and nice ready to cut through all that dreamy fabric.

  25. Lisa Marie says:

For people who are sewists or crafters I think good gifts are books or magazines about their hobbies or fabric. Or gift cards for those things so they can choose themselves. I LOVE making gifts for friends and family — it’s probably my favorite thing about sewing.

  26. Kathleen says:

As far as what I like to receive as a gift, it’s fabric. I like when someone else picks out fabric for me. I end up with a nice variety that I might not have purchased on my own. Thanks for the giveaway!

For my quilting friends I make them a quilt block roll – which stores their finished quilt blocks or a small needlework case which holds their small items like marking pens, box of pins, small scissors, spool of thread and has a pincushion built in.

  47. Sandy Feldman says:

Love making holiday gifts, the quilted kind or from my kitchen.

  48. Karen Watkins says:

A good stocking stuffer for a sewer or quilter would be rotary cutter blades or sewing machine needles. They both wear out and need replacing.
