Have you picked your favorites from Sew It All, Volume 11? I have a few that I’ll definitely be making for fall, including this Vintage Vibe Skirt by Jenny Gordy of Wiksten (<<she is so great!). It’s such a great basic – easy to sew up for spring or fall (even for beginners) and easy to style for both. I love the tie, the button front and the pleats, and fabric selection could take it in so many different stylistic directions (i.e. you need more than 3!). The sample is sewn up in medium- to heavyweight linen. I’m a big linen fan, but I wanted to look for some additional options for fall – here are my top contenders!
I am team canvas when it comes to structured garments. This lovely stuff from Cotton + Steel would be kind of ah-mazing with this skirt design. Pair it with basic buttons or go novelty – banana buttons anyone?
If you love the look of embroidered denim, take a peek at this Telio Denim Border Print. A super pairing with the skirt’s vintage flavor!
I’m seeing so much corduroy right now and I love this print from Cloud 9. With a mustard blouse – yes, please!
This new canvas line from Cloud 9 just gets me. Use Canvas Dashes Indigo for a bold printed look that can work year-round.
Go upscale and mod with some Telio Montgomery Stretch Twill, perfect if you’re looking to add a touch of urban edge.
