2018 Sewing Goals – Assistant Editor, Jessica Ziebarth

Happy New Year!

This year I am looking forward to sewing more for myself. I seem to always get caught up in mending something for someone, making gifts for friends and family or sewing up a project for work. Though I am sure I will still be sewing for all of the above, I will make more of an effort to put my sewing projects first. I am already planning to tackle my “mending pile” this weekend. You know, that pile of clothes you have kept around in hopes that you will repair it, while the pile just keeps growing and growing. After that pile is no longer haunting me I plan to move on to more exciting things, like new grocery bags, pants that I can use in late Winter and transition into Spring in, and I’m definitely making myself a duster (hopefully in velvet!).

I am really excited to share what I have been sewing for my new 2018 columns in Sew New with everyone. Check out the sneak peeks below!

My favorite part of sewing will be my embellishments of my artwork in applicay. I love the simple additions to the slippers.

I love the beaded look at the bottom of those jeans! Neat!
