No Sweat Costumes

By Annette Bailey

Even Tempered

Perfect for health care workers and those in hot water, this thermometer guise is hot off the ironing board.

Cutting & Construction

  • Cut a 3"-wide strip of lamé to go from the sweatpants ankle to about crotch level.

  • Using a press cloth, press one side of the fusible web to the lamé. Fuse another web piece to the grosgrain ribbon.

  • Using pinking shears, trim 1/4" from each lamé edge.

  • Peel the paper backing and place the lamé wrong side down on the sweatpant right side on the right leg front (1). Cover the lamé with a press cloth and press the strip in place. Peel the paper backing from the grosgrain strip and fuse, wrong side down, in the center of the lamé strip.

  • Arrange the felt numbers along the right edge of the sweatshirt and sweatpants; peel the paper backing and press in place (2).

Peel and press numbers as shown.
