Applying Studs Center a stud or rhinestone over each placement dot on the fabric right side and use one of the following methods to secure it to the fabric.

  • To attach round studs or rhinestones and settings to flat fabric areas, use a stud setting machine and follow the manufacturer's instructions for greatest accuracy and ease. It comes with a tool that helps you insert studs and settings into the machine without touching the sharp prongs and allows you to quickly attach many studs.

Bend prongs flat against fabric wrong side.

Press down.
  • To attach novelty shape studs to fabric, or to attach studs to areas that are inaccessible with the machine, such as sewn-on pockets, shoes and purses, center the stud over the placement dot and firmly press the prongs through the fabric, being careful not to touch the sharp ends. Use the stud setting hand tool or a flat head screwdriver to bend the prongs flat against the fabric wrong side .

Bend prongs down around front of stone.
For rhinestones, press the setting prongs through the fabric from the wrong side, insert the stone in the setting and use the tool or screwdriver to bend the prongs down against the stone .

  • To attach rhinestones or studs without prongs to fabric, use jewelry adhesive formulated for adhering plastic and metal to fabric.
