How can I tell which is the right side of a "wicking" fabric?

Use a sprinkle test to determine the right side. Sprinkle water on both sides of the fabric and observe how quickly the water is absorbed. The side that absorbs the water fastest is the wrong side--it's pulling the moisture in and wicking it to the other side.
