I want to put a lining in a mediumweight fleece jacket. Acetate linings create too much static. What can I use instead?

You don't have to use a "lining" fabric, but whatever you use should be smooth, wrinkle-resistant, and lighter weight and softer than the garment fabric. Fibers that breathe will be more comfortable. Look for "anti-static" or "static-free" lining fabrics. Note: The anti-static finish washes out so use a fabric softener in the rinse cycle or use an anti-static sheet in the dryer.
Sportwear companies frequently use nylon in their linings. You might try blouse fabrics, such as polyester, polyester blend, microfiber or rayon fabric. Note: Be sure to preshrink rayon. Try rubbing the fleece fabric against the chosen lining to see how much static might develop.
