I've just discovered clear elastic. It's wonderfully light, easy to use and very stretchy. However since it's so stretchy, I end up with a too-loose fit when I follow the measuring instructions for regular elastic. How can I solve this problem?

The first few times clear elastic is stretched, it will elongate up to 10% of its original length. Before measuring and cutting, stretch the elastic a few times to "warm it up;" then measure, cut and apply the elastic. The clear elastic will still have 100% recovery.
