Give 'em the Slip

Could your favorite footstool or ottoman use a fresh face? McCall's 4803 is here to help with a collection of four slipcovers that lets you team the fabrics and details best suited to your room's style. The outcome: a whole new look at a fraction of the cost of purchasing a replacement. Choose from two rectangular designs, one with a funky retro vibe, including a button-tufted top and optional pleated hem band; the other with traditional corner pleats dressed up in a trio of classic fabrics. You'll also find two round versions featuring either a kicky pleated-and-fringed effect or a tailored, tufted, mixedprint look. All include instructions for fitting to your specific ottoman's dimensions.

Wrap & Roll

Every woman needs at least one dress that takes her from out-of-the-shower to out-the-door in a matter of minutes. McCall's 4770 (Misses' sizes 8 to 22) is that dress. The surplice style's amply overlapping wrap front secures in two places for both good fit and modesty. All views feature princess seaming but vary to offer short, crisp or long, belled-and-slit sleeves, plus an undulating neckline ruffle on one or both sides. Also choose from below-knee or ankle-skimming lengths, and consider a delicate ribbon-and-rose belt. Go with the flow of this easy, breezy look by choosing a lightweight linen, silk or challis fabric.
