Delicate Details

Sleeve Construction

Stitch the sleeve front to the sleeve back at the overarm seam, matching the notches and large circles.

Easestitch the sleeve cap between the notches.

Place the sleeves on a flat surface, and mark the lace placement lines (2). Lace placement on the sleeves and jacket may vary from size to size. The figures shown are only a suggested placement.

To create a sleeve bow, cut a 46" Lace-D strip and mark a dot 14" from the right end using a watersoluble marker. Align the dot with the sleeve bow placement mark, with the shorter lace length to the right. Shape the bow referring to Shaping & Mitering Lace. Stitch the bow edges with a narrow zigzag. Repeat on the opposite sleeve.

Position a Lace-A strip along the designated line. Miter the lace at the overarm seam, and shape it along the curves. Refer to Shaping & Mitering Lace. Zigzag Lace A to the netting.

Position a Lace-C strip, shaping the lace upper edge to its designated line and mitering at the overarm seam. Zigzag Lace C to the netting along each heading.

Position a Lace-B strip, aligning the upper lace edge with the placement line (3).

Following the lace upper edge, zigzag the lace to the netting. Then zigzag the lace lower edge to the netting. Trim the excess netting below the lowest line of zigzag stitching.

Weave a 41"-long ribbon through the Lace-C beading, allowing the excess to hang in a loop at the overarm sleeve seam.

Stitch the remaining sleeve seam, matching the laces and catching the ribbon ends in the seam. Repeat to add the lace and ribbon on the remaining sleeve.
