- 28" of 1"-wide pink-edged cream bias-cut silk ribbon
- 18" of 3/8" -wide cream double-faced silk ribbon

- 16 pearl seed beads
- Twisted beading thread or quilting thread
- Milliner needle size #10
The following instructions apply to one end of the scarf. Repeat the instructions to embellish the opposite end.
Thread a needle with a single strand of beading or quilting thread. When creating ribbonwork flowers, anchor the gathering thread in the ribbon with three or four backstitches. A conventional knot won't hold the gathering and will pull out of the ribbon.
Cut a length of embroidered lace 1/4" longer than the scarf width, centering or placing any scallops as desired. Fold the lace cut edges under 1/8", position the lace so the scalloped edge just covers the scarf 's fringing knots, then tack the lace to the scarf with hand stitches (1).
