Ribbonwork Revisited

Sachet

MATERIALS

  • 6 1/2" x 5" cream organdy bag
  • 10 1/2" of 2 1/2"-wide embroidered fine-net lace
  • 7" of 1 1/4"-wide pink silk ribbon
  • 9" of 3/8"-wide cream double-faced silk ribbon
  • 4 1/2" of 1/4"-wide lavender and pink ruffle-edge ribbon
  • 2 1/4" of 1/4"-wide pink and gold ruffle-edge ribbon
  • 6" of green-ribbon leaf trim
  • 21 gold seed beads
  • Eight pearl seed beads
  • Twisted beading thread or quilting thread
  • Milliner needle size #10

Using the same techniques, instructions and diagrams for the flowers on the scarf, make one pink rose, two cream blossoms, two lavender and pink rosettes, and one pink, gold-edge rosette with a gold seed bead center.

Sew the lace to the bag upper edge, just above the drawstring ribbons.

Referring to the photo for placement, sew the flowers to the lower half of the sachet. Sew the large pink rose first, followed by a semicircle of the green leaf trim under the rose. Sew the remaining flowers over the leaf trim.

Fill the bag with lavender or potpourri to create the sachet.
