Rickrack is Back

No-Sew Decorative Uses

Create a dainty border on a scrapbook's heritage page using 1/4"-wide or narrower rickrack (13). Try wider sizes in bold colors for contemporary pages.

Decorate a gift bag with varying widths and colors of rickrack; add a paper cutout for a whimsical look (14).

For a quick party accent, tie rickrack around pillar candles or table napkins. CAUTION: Never leave a burning candle unattended.

more ideas

Traditional rickrack applications include: Seminole patchwork skirts or jackets; pillows, towels, pillowcases, aprons and place mats; anything denim; yokes; costumes; and tote bags.

For a fun approach, add a metallic rickrack flower to a satin handbag; glue rickrack on notecards, add a tiny button; or apply rickrack while stitching in the ditch.
