Hooping Tips

  • First, install a new embroidery needle in the machine. A dull needle can snag or tear the fabric making the results anything but fabulous.
  • Next, consider the hooping. Because the sash is too narrow to fit in a hoop and you don't want to damage the delicate satin fabric, the best method to use is hoopless embroidery.
  • Hoop a water-soluble stabilizer. Using a damp sponge or cloth, moisten the stabilizer to activate the adhesive. Position the sash on the stabilizer, and then smooth it in place.
  • Embroider the design. After embroidery, carefully pull the sash away from the stabilizer.
  • Remove the excess stabilizer following the manufacturer's instructions.
