12 Days of Christmas Giveaways – Day 2!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you’re all getting into the Christmas spirit. To celebrate the holidays at our office, we’ve been paired up for Secret Santas and have been surprising our coworkers with fun little gifts each day!

I hope you all enjoyed the free embroidery design yesterday! If you missed the post, check it out here. For Day 2 of our 12 Days of Christmas giveaways, our prize is an Abracadabra Crafts ornament trio!

This educational craft kit for kids promotes creativity. Use the provided ornament base, paint, brushes, trim and glitter to create a one-of-a-kind tree decoration. If you don’t have kids to craft with, make a fun ornament for yourself using the provided materials plus a few things from your stash.

Since my granddaughter was killed in a tornado on Feb. 29th I have had a hard time getting into the Christmas mood. I like to watch the Hallmark movies on TV and that helps somewhat.

I have mixed emotions about this time of year on account of my birthday being so close and the painful memories associated with it. That being said, every once in a while there will be something that highlights the bigger metaphor…

  6. Maggie says:

The smell of a bayberry candle.

Unfortunately our office doesn’t celebrate Christmas. A couple of us do give others small gifts.

My boss’ wife came in and decorated everything. Other years our boss has taken us out to eat, but things are sort of tight now. The Christmas decorations really cheer things up in the dreary north. ;)

Just had the guild party yesterday. We celebrated by collecting funds for Sandy victims, matching from the guild, and food for the Food Bank. So much giving going on as the members came in with comfort quilts and dresses for Haiti. The true spirit of giving! But we took the time to eat good food and be entertained by puppeteer Jack Foreaker.

  11. Deb Davidson says:

At my office people decorate their cubicles and then our department has a potluck during the December staff meeting. Here is also a gift game.

I work from home so I use my favorite decorations everywhere which include a “Charlie Brown” Christmas tree that looks like the real thing. I love this the most and it was a gift from my brother-in-law, we share the same sense of humor.

  15. Carol K E says:

We have a potluck supper after work and play a dice game with naughty and nice gifts. I usually bring a quilted ornament or small wall hanging.

I work from home in an office of just me, so I change out my CDs to all Christmas music and light a couple holiday scented candles. I sing O Holy Night from the top of my lungs and pretend it sounds just as good as the singer!

I get in the spirit on Black Friday. I’ve only been shopping once on Black Friday but just seeing it all on the news gets me going every year. Sometimes I put the tree up then and sometimes (because my sons birthday is around then) the next day. When I worked retail the Black Friday crowds always made me happy. It was my second favorite day of the year to work. My most favorite was Christmas Eve.

  20. V. Abney says:

Our work place has a covered dish dinner off-site.

I play Christmas music to get into the spirit!

  22. Cindy Schultz says:

I work in a pharmacy at a hospital. We don’t really decorate, but we do adopt a family for Christmas. Everyone buys gifts for the family and wraps it up, I guess that could be
considered our decoration. It is great buying something for a family who really needs
help especially at this time of year.

  23. Constance M. Bunn says:

I work out of my home, so I stick in Christmas movies while I’m sewing, then I work on Christmas gifts for my loved ones and post them (to try to get orders for like projects to sell). Then, if I get caught up before it’s TOOO late, I go into the livingroom to read and catch up on emails ~ plug in the Christmas tree lights and I’m happy as a bug in a rug!! From now on, the Christmas trees will be within sight of my sewing area ~ LOVE the feeling I get when the lights are on!!

  24. pat peters says:

I am a house wife and husband retired so we

I work from home, so I usually have a Christmas DVD playing this time of year.

My office decks the halls at the office(including Xmas stockings for everyone with names emboridered on them by yours truly) and we have a big Christmas party–open bar, great food and a fun band.

This is my first Christmas as my current job. But we have a potluck lunch planned, an ornament exchange as well as a cookie exchange planned! AND most decorate their offices. So festive :)

I get into the Christmas spirit by getting out my stocking that my grandmother made for me. She made one for each of her grandchildren all in red cotton with our names on them! Oh it needs to be washed and is tearing out in places of the seams but should I wash it….I might loose all the pretty sequins and rick rack, maybe next year! Marge.
